Lane Typeface

This is typeface has been guided through my Typography 3 course. Through essential precision and accuracy I crafted this typeface after meticulous education on what makes a typeface and how to make one. I pulled inspiration from Bulmer and Baskerville, transitional typefaces from the 18th century. The crossection between old style and modern.

The process began by designing a handful of letters each week, maintaining consistency and form. I began with capital letters, then lowercase, and then numbers and punctuation. The process took place between Adobe Illustrator with extremely detailed application of the pen tool and then transferred to Glyphs for kerning and perfecting the typeface. I believe this typeface represents my brand and personality quite well- timeless with a twist.
Typeface in application- the transitional typeface aligns beautifully with these book covers I constructed of a Jane Austen collection. Illustrations done by hand.
Typeface broadside poster complete with all characters. Lane is masked in a painting by me.
